We have carried the Pikkolo baby carriers in store for 3 full years now and love showing mamas how it works – especially the adjustable base to control the spread of the baby leg openings. The photos below are an older model , so the color is discontinued and the style of the adjuster has changed, but hopefully this post still does the trick!
Pikkolos have this great drawstring inside the base so you can make baby’s seat nice and wide when they’re bigger, but you scrunch it down narrower so a small baby can let their legs hang down. A young baby can even ride on your front facing outward, which is a very rare option to find in a carrier that is able to carry older babies, toddlers , and do a backpack position. That requires a really wide base under baby’s bottom, and most frontpack carriers that allow baby to face outward lack a way to expand baby’s seat to support the weight of a 1 or 2 year old child, so the useful life of those frontpacks is much shorter.

Another note- with the Pikkolo when you choose how high on your waist to wear it, you’re choosing how tall to make the carrier body.  Want to make it easier for baby to see out? Want to hide them inside for sleep or weather protection? It’s all in your control! And of course, there’s the actual sleeping hood you can attach if you’re serious about that nap or keeping the wind away.

We have a new batch of photos showing the positions for using a Pikkolo baby carrier with small babies and older babies. The Pikkolo is suitable for babies sized 8lbs to 40 pounds and is $129 at this link. Until spring colors come out, we will only have these in solid black, cafe au lait (dark brown) and prints Georgia and Avalon. We do have the optional support belt and weather covers.

For most of December, Priority mail is our most popular option because it is so fast and affordable. A typical 2-pound order arrives in 2-3 days and costs $4.95 within the US. We ship most orders same-day because everything you see in the store is in-stock and ready to go. That’s our In-Stock Policy!

According the USPS the cutoff date for Dec 24th delivery anywhere in the US is Dec 20 for priority mail. We can guarantee that orders placed by 4PM will be shipped same-day but we cannot guarantee the USPS’s own performance.

So, our recommendation is trusting priority mail for now, but soon we will strongly encourage use of Fedex 3-day Saver or 2nd Day Air for guaranteed Christmas delivery.
