Zolowear blogged today about their commitment to producing their slings in the US.
All Zolowear products are made in Texas, even though so many companies are manufacturing abroad now, and the blog post explains how they answer questions about their decision not to do the same.
This photo shows a 5 month old baby in a Zolo silk sling. The color is Java, and they call it “lite” because it is one layer of fabric and they used to be made in two layers.

Trista from The Bachelor TV show wears a Zolowear solarveil sling.
Follow this link to the photo and quote at the official Zolowear blog.
FYI, solarveil is UV protective fabric, it is ultra light and very quick drying. It’s an especially useful baby item at summertime. It is a bit less expensive than then decorator fabrics.

Two gorgeous new arrivals here- Berry and Stone Zolowear slings, both just now added to Zolo’s sustainably grown cotton line. That means earth-friendly 100% organic cotton twill that comes from sustainable farming methods. The jewel-toned Berry looks and feels smooth and luscious. Well, the Stone feels that way too, but with a more gender-neutral color. Both have black sling rings and the strong zipper pocket.
The newcomers join the hemp/cotton Sable Brown sling so we now carry all three of Zolowear’s organic solid slings.

There is a new blog post at Sakura Bloom today about how to get started with your sling.
There are so many ways to position a baby in there, what do you try first? what will baby want?
They give a very simple guideline- consider how you hold your baby already and then use the sling just like that! you don’t have to use a sling in some weird new “hold” and don’t get confused by names for different “carries”. Just put the sling on, put baby where you always hold her, and then pull the sling tight to hold her just like that, letting your hands go free.
And as usual, the photo illustrations are absolutely enticing :)

How many words are there for stunning? Breathtaking. Amazing. To die for.

I know you can see the dupioni silk, woven by hand exclusively for their company. maybe if you click for larger images, you could glimpse the exquisite detail. We also have 2 selections from their line of finest Belgian linen slings. All are handcrafted and reversible. The colors are amazing. The feel of the fabric, I couldn’t even describe. And yes, it’s machine washable, yes they withstand the messes and assaults of daily life.
Let me tell you, I’ve been using slings for almost exactly 5 years now.

I know my baby carriers, I know what’s out there, the good and the bad, the easy and the complicated. These slings are a DREAM to use.
Whether you’re buying for yourself or as a gift, I know you won’t be disappointed. I am thrilled to be carrying them. We’re starting with 6 colors and will continue building it up. Let’s see how long I can keep from taking one for myself!

Under the title “fun for the whole family” that is a turquoise blue solarveil ring sling and the quote is “Every family member will want a chance to “wear” your baby in the beautiful ZoloWear sling. Their mesh version keeps babies cool and blocks 70-80% of UVA/UVB sun rays.”
Solarveil is the UV protective fabric that is also a quick-dry mesh ideal for use around the water.
9/20/07 Sadly, the only US mill that makes this special fabric just announced it’s closure so we probably won’t be able to restock these next summer. For now, we do have pink and khaki remaining.
