This week we’ve diverted our attention from the flow of incoming new products to deal with technical improvements.
It may not seem very exciting to see new products stay in their boxes, unphotographed, unshelved, unavailable for sale or posting links to them… but trust me, the nuts and bolts we’re working on are nonetheless exciting and helpful to you and us.

Another ABC Kids photo here- this is the Beco company. I was so glad to finally see the owner, Gabby, in person. We’re both Californians but not close enough for me to have seen her office or sewing house before. She’s a fabulous woman and a true innovator, so it was fun to talk while we could.

You can see some of our colors there, also if you try, you may find a sneak peak at new designs not yet in production… don’t worry, we’ll keep you as updated as we can, and we will carry the new ones as soon as possible!

Last week I attended this huge juvenile products show in Las Vegas as a buyer in search of new product lines. That was successful and the exciting new arrivals will be posted here as they come in. My main objective was to secure new sources for top quality infant toys and dolls, and to personally handle the prototypes of new variations coming for our current lines.
As a bonus, we’re also bringing on board nursing cover-ups, an innovative safety product, an affordable and popular infant wrap carrier, better organic blankets, soft infant winter boots, another choice for cloth diapers and covers, breast pads, changing pads, and a luxurious sling line at a higher price point…

It was also nice to visit with our existing vendors and reps in person. Two of them have blogged already, here are photos of their booths. Both companies have good news coming, I’ll keep you posted.

I just marked down all the remaining Catbird Baby mei tais. There are 4 fabrics left, and they’re $88 each until they move on out and make room for some new products for the fall.

This a front, back, or hip carrier that ties on to your body with long straps, no buckles. Baby can face in or out, and you can use it form birth to whenever you’re kiddo is walking everywhere and not needing to be carried anymore.

TheBabyWearer.com is a website that promotes, educates, and converses about baby carriers and slings.

They have also a large section for reviewing retailers and products.

Last night the store met a milestone- the 25,000th visitor, and the 100,000th page view for 2007.

On average, as you see, a customer looks at 4 pages before they go. Of course many people see only one page and then move on, but they are balanced out by people who stay much longer.
