Tender Cargo’s People
If you’ve seen the store’s “about us” page, you know we’re “a family owned and operated business in Berkeley, California”. It seems that if you’ve found your way to a blog page called “Tender Cargo’s People” you might be interested to hear more.
Tender Cargo opened in 2006 as a one-woman-show. That would be me, Christine, a married mom of 3. I have a BA in Economics and my last salaried employment was as a business analyst for Intel in 2001. I founded this company with little children underfoot, working from a laptop all day and all night on everything from business planning and product purchasing to web design, accounting, customer service, and of course, shipping.
These days we do have warehouse space and shipping staff but I still handle the rest of the business from my office in the peaceful hills above the vibrant urban activity. Stay in touch with our blog for updates about our coming brick & mortar storefront this fall.
